Marketing and sales are both aimed at increasing revenue. They are so closely intertwined that people often don’t realize the difference between the two. Indeed, in small organizations, the same people typically perform both sales and marketing tasks.

Salespeople are right bleep, bleep.

Marketing people are just dreamers.

I’ve worked in both departments and I’ve heard many snarky comments in my career.

But the reality is without sales and marketing there would be no customers to serve and revenue is the lifeblood of any business.

I believe the future of sales & marketing is much more integrated. Especially now with access to so much data & insights.

For example, we are starting to see more salespeople generating their own leads and then using data insights to nurture their relationships with CRM marketing skills using new tactics with a/b subject line testing.

The classic old school sales negotiation skills over lunch or on the golf course with a prospective client now need to be transferred to live demos and zoom calls.

As we say at Uhubs there are timeless skills and timely skills.

The world is in a very different place, its even more important to upskill your sales & marketing teams.
