There is no talent shortage.
2 min read
Why would a new banking startup recruit people who worked at previous banks to join them when in actual fact someone from the consumer world or opposite industry will bring more value to disrupt that sector.
Coming from outside the industry is a great advantage as you’re not bogged down by legacy conformity and thinking.
Why does a large corporate who wishes to drive innovation and creativity still want to see competitor logos on their candidate CVs as a prerequisite?

There is no talent shortage, there is just short-sighted talent recruitment.
Hiring people “without” that industry sector experience will open up the opportunity to find unique talent.
We need to stop overlooking great candidates just because they don’t have the right industry experience.
